A cozy restoration workshop

Rusty on the outside. Wonderful underneath.

Patinook is a relaxed hands-on game for your phone. Old radios, fans and furniture land on your bench. Undo the screws, take off the rust and the old paint, make the part that is missing, put it all back together and hand it over like new.

Coming soon on Google Play

Patinook is still in the workshop. The store link appears here as soon as the game is public.

What happens on the bench

Real screws, real order

Circle your finger to undo each screw. A seized one needs oil and patience, and a stripped head asks for another tool. Every part goes back where it came from.

Layer by layer

Rust, grime and decades of old paint come off one layer at a time, with a rag, a wire brush, sandpaper or a power tool. The original shows up underneath.

Paint and lacquer

Prime, colour coats, clear lacquer. Work evenly and the finish is smooth; linger and it runs.

The lathe and the 3D printer

When a part is gone, you make a new one: turn it on the lathe, or pick the model, load the filament and watch it print.

A water-damaged radio board

Clean off the corrosion, then desolder, replace and solder the parts back in. Tune the dial and hear if it works.

Furniture on the workshop floor

Bigger pieces too: drawers, brass pulls, layers of paint over the original wood, ready to be stripped, sanded and finished.

How a job goes

  1. 1

    Open it up

Look the piece over, find what is wrong, then take it apart screw by screw.

  2. 2

    Bring it back

Clean, repair, make what is missing, paint and finish, then put it together again.

  3. 3

    Hand it over

Switch it on, show the before and the after, and see what the customer says.
